Charatan Coronation #9593
"Made by Hand in the City of London," with gold rim and gold
band (both stamped '680' and a 'CP' on the band.  Magnificent
grain and a little gem for Charatan collectors.  A Lane Ltd. pipe.
5 7/8" long, bowl 2" high: Weight; 2.41 oz., 68.6 grams. New.
Price. $2750
Charatan Coronation #9604
It might be a combination of the wood size and quality that
created the "Coronation" designation on this pipe.  Across the
top the pipe measures 3 1/2".  That's a big pipe.  Again, it was
"Made by Hand in the City of London" by Lane Ltd.  It has a
gold band and a DC stem.
7 1/8" long, bowl 2" high: Weight; 3.65 oz., 103.7 grms. New.
Price. $2750
Baldo Baldi #1262004
5.5" long, bowl 2.25" high. Weight: 2 3/8 oz. New. Price: $1150
Baldo Baldi #1261968
This pipe has to come close to matching the tightest, 360
degree straight grain that I've ever seen.  I'm not a grain
maven, but when it looks like this, it's hard not to notice.  In
addition, it is not that big or bulky.  The draw sucks (or should I
say, it doesn't suck enough?) but that can easily be fixed.
5.7" long, bowl 2.3" high. Weight: 2 3/8 oz., 66 grams.
New.  Price: $1550

Dunhill 1950 DRR H #12186544CG
On the side of the shank where it states the DRR H, the
nomenclature is quite clear; on the other side, to see the Pat. #
and the year, you have to look carefully, but it is certainly all
there.  The overall cond. of the pipe is very good and I do
believe the stem is original.  Due to age and use, there are a
few minor dings on the bowl..nothing remotely serious.  Used.
5.7" long, bowl 1.6" high.  Weight:  1 oz., 28 grams. $1350
Mike Butera Straight Grain #6270034PC (RESERVED)
I might put this on the U.S. page, too, for greater exposure, but
a Butera straight grain is pretty rare in my experience.  Next to
Cooke, he might be the most sort-after U.S. maker and
everyone that knows him is hoping that he returns to pipe
making now that he has some spare time after selling his very
successful cigar and tobacco producing and importing business.
The front of this pipe has solid grain, but it is not of the caliber
straight grain that you see on the sides of the bowl and it
should have been photographed for you to see.  Our oversight.
In this case, the bottom, too, should have been shot.  it exhibits
the Bird's Eye grain you would expect as a terminus for the
grain on the bowl sides.  It is graded "J" and is unsmoked.
5.7" long, bowl 2.3" tall.  Weight: 2 oz., 58 grams. Price: $1450.
