I might put this on the U.S. page, too, for greater exposure, but a Butera straight grain is pretty rare in my experience. Next to Cooke, he might be the most sort-after U.S. maker and everyone that knows him is hoping that he returns to pipe making now that he has some spare time after selling his very successful cigar and tobacco producing and importing business. The front of this pipe has solid grain, but it is not of the caliber straight grain that you see on the sides of the bowl and it should have been photographed for you to see. Our oversight. In this case, the bottom, too, should have been shot. it exhibits the Bird's Eye grain you would expect as a terminus for the grain on the bowl sides. It is graded "J" and is unsmoked. 5.7" long, bowl 2.3" tall. Weight: 2 oz., 58 grams. Price: $1450.
